Sunday School
Sunday School classes are provided for all children of the congregation three years of age and
older. Each summer, a week-long Vacation Church School is held, with children enjoying learning
Bible stories, practicing songs for a program in church, and completing craft projects. A closing
day picnic is held on the final day of Vacation Church School. One of the highlights of the year for
the Sunday School is the Children's Christmas Program in which the children of St. John's lead the
congregation in praising the newborn King. The Sunday School staff includes the
superintendent, classroom teachers and assistants.
Lutheran Men in Mission
The members of St. John's Lutheran Men in Mission take an active part in congregational life
through projects and Bible study. They meet on a monthly basis for a Bible study, program, and
business meeting. All men of the congregation are encouraged to join Lutheran Men in Mission.
Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America
Women in the congregation who are members of the Women of the ELCA meet
monthly for a Bible study, program, and business meeting. They sponsor many special projects
including sewing quilts for Lutheran World Relief, and are an active part of the church's outreach
to those in need. All women of the congregation are encouraged to join the Women of the ELCA.

Choir
St. John's Lutheran Church has a rich musical heritage. Church members combine their musical
talents to enrich worship services. The choir is a part of many Sunday morning worship services.
In December St. John's Lutheran Church choir leds the congregation in 'An Advent Evening'
celebration.
Altar Guild
Members of St. John's altar guild make sure that everything is in readiness for worship services.
They fill communion cups and bake bread for communion, furnish flowers for the altar, and
change the altar cloths when needed. Two people have altar duty each month.
Centennial Committee
The Centennial Committee meets monthly planning the centennial. In August during the Dodge
County Fair, they have a fair stand for the purpose of raising money for the church centennial.
The committee members are making plans for various church improvements and church events.
Fellowship
Parishioners at St. John's enjoy the opportunities for fellowship with one another. Each summer,
St. John's has an outdoor worship services followed by a congregational picnic. Occasional
workdays get needed tasks completed in an atmosphere of friendly fellowship. Congregational
members work hard to decorate a church float that is entered in various county fair parades.
Members from young to elderly participate the Centennial Fair Stand and 'Advent Evening'
making both truly a congregational effort.
Church Council
The governing body of the church is the church council, whose members are elected for two-year
terms. Council members may stand for reelection one time. The church council ensures the
smooth operation of the church with regard to the programs of the church, physical plant, and
fiscal responsibility.
