St John's Lutheran Church

(Dodge / Cuming County Line)

Scribner, Nebraska

Who We Are

St John's Lutheran Church, a white wood-frame church that sits on top of a hill near the Cuming and Dodge County line, overlooks the fertile farmland settled over a century ago by German immigrants from the Oldenburg area of Germany. St John's Lutheran Church welcomes you to join us in our worship services and other parish activities. Parishioners come from the rural area around the church as well as from Scribner, Uehling and West Point. St. John's Lutheran Church is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), and is an active member of the Nebraska Synod of the ELCA.

A dual parish, St. John's shares its pastor, with St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Uehling. The parsonage is located just south of the church, and the cemetery is northwest of the church building.

St. John's is a caring, welcoming congregation whose members care for one another in the spirit of Christian love. We welcome you to join us as together we are about the work of the Lord in our world today.

If you already belong to a faith community, we wish you God's blessings! We want to be your friend and neighbor.

If you are seeking a new church home, we invite you to join with us and be a part of ST. JOHN'S! Together we will build a new community of faith based upon the Good News of God's forgiving love in Jesus Christ!
